Since the age of three, Emmalie has studied a wide variety of dance. Being a Texas native, she began her training at a local studio in Houston, where she realized dance was the career path she wanted to follow. She later trained with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, with an adjunct pre-professional program known as the MET Too. During this time she also studied at the High School of Performing and Visual Arts, under the direction of LuAnne Carter. After her freshman year she left her roots in Texas to train at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts in North Carolina (under the direction of ABT Artistic Director, Susan Jaffe). Here she performed works by Twyla Tharp, George Balanchine, Lucinda Childs, Merce Cunningham, and many others.

After graduating from high school at UNCSA, Emmalie left North Carolina to train at SUNY Purchase in Harrison, NY. Emmalie worked with many prestigious artists and choreographers throughout the summers as well as at Purchase. She had a wonderful opportunity to work with Purchase alumna, Melanie Ramos, on her piece "Awakening," which was performed at the Martha Graham Studio Theater in October, 2018. Emmalie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Purchase in May 2019, with her BFA in dance and is currently teaching full time at Greater Austin Dance Academy in Round Rock, TX, as well as in the Ballet Austin Academy. Emmalie is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary-Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She hopes to continue progressing through the program, bringing the highest quality of ballet training to her students.

Emmalie is a strong advocate and admirer of all arts, who particularly enjoys going to the symphony and theater. Emmalie has a strong passion for teaching and hopes to one day teach at a collegiate level. Some of Emmalie's favorite pastimes are spending time with her friends and family, hiking, reading and going on adventures with her golden retriever, Maisy.
